Winterization is one of the most important steps in boat maintenance. Although we are blessed with mild winters here in Tennessee, long periods of disuse can still wreak havoc on our beloved boats. When boating season rolls back around, the last thing anyone wants to do is uncover a boat with extensive damage.

Of course, not all boaters have the time or expertise to undertake the whole process of winterization on their own. That’s why we are pleased to offer winterization services here at Clark Marine Sales in Franklin, TN. Stern Drive Winterization

Major Winterization Package:

Flush motor with antifreeze.

Change oil (up to 5 quarts).

Change oil filter and water separator (when applicable).

Check and change the gear case oil.

Add gas treatment to the fuel system.

Check the connectors for loose wiring.

Check for cracked or weathered belts and hoses.

Check and top off the outdrive lube.

Stern Drive Winterization

Minor Winterization Package:

Flush motor with antifreeze.

Check fluid levels.

Check the gear case for water.

Add gas treatment to the fuel system.

Outboard winterization

Outboard Winterization Package:

Fog pistons and carbs.

Change the gear case oil.

Add gas treatment to the fuel system.

shrink wrapping

Shrink Wrapping Package

Shrink wrapping is a very effective method of winterization. We offer shrink wrapping for all boats and pontoons at the rate of $21.50 per foot used (plus tax).

de-winterization

De-Winterization Package

When the winter months have come and gone, it’s finally time to gear up for another boating season. Bring your winterized boat back to Clark Marine Sales and we’ll prep it for action! The charge for de-winterization is $65.00 (plus tax and supplies).

ADDITIONAL NOTES

The whole winterization process usually takes no longer than 3 business days. When your services are complete, you’ll receive a phone call to let you know that your boat is ready for pickup. Once we’ve notified you, please make sure to pick up your boat in a timely manner! This helps us make room for the next customer.

Also, please confirm that your boat’s battery is charged before you bring it in. There will be an extra service charge for boats with dead batteries.
